I know most of the Windows users are now running Windows XP. But still there are some peoples who like Windows 98 Very Much and satisfied with it. Yesterday one of My Friends whos is a Windows 98 User came to see me and said that he have a problem in his Windows 98 Operating System while shutting it down.

First, I suggestd him to Upgrade Windows 98 to Windows XP Home or Professional edition. But he refused and said he is very much satisfied and impressed with Windows 98 than Windows XP. I really can’t believe how he could be. But anyway at finally i helped him. His problem and the solution for his problem are :

The Problem with Windows 98 Shutdown :

When he clicks the Shutdown and Press Ok in the Shutdown Dialog box his computer is displaying “Windows is Shutting Down…” and simply hangs. And instead of Shutting Down if he choose to Restart in MS-DOS Mode, its just Displaying a Blank Screen and again hanged !

Solution for Windows 98 Shutdown Problem :

So quickly i Googled and found that its a bug in Windows 98 Operating System itself. So you have to Download and install the Windows 98 Shutdown Patch to rectify this problem. You can get more details about this problem at Microsoft’s website here…
